Dementia Capable Care (DCC) is an evidence-based dementia and behavior training program designed for health care workers that makes a sustainable impact. Staff will acquire knowledge on how to:

· Reduce pharmacological interventions: DCC provides you with the training and tools to prevent and de-escalate distress behaviors without using drugs (nonpharmacological interventions).
· Gain CPI techniques and trusted dementia care models: The program blends the Claudia Allen Cognitive Disabilities Model with Kitwood’s model of person-centered care and CPI’s verbal de-escalation techniques.
· Implement training virtually: Instructor certification is achieved through virtual training to keep your high-risk population safe while minimizing staff time off the floor and travel costs. Dementia Capable Care | CPI Training | Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
