You must sign up for (1)Level 1/2 and (1)Level 3– course in the same week.
A Mandatory Training program for IPU/CSU and all ED Staff designed to educate, prevent, and mitigate the risk of violence to workers in healthcare and private corporations.
Objectives
- Assess and recognize emerging escalating behavioral situation
- Verbalize strategies to avoid physical harm
- Name 3 warning signs of individuals that cause concern
- Verbalize the phases of the assault cycle
- Describe the use of proper documentation to mitigate liability risk
- Demonstrate reasonable force used to defend self or others to mitigate liability risk.
- Verbalize safety techniques used within your department/workplace
- Identify the Center for Medicaid Services requirement for use of force and self defense designed to protect patients, staff, or others from harm
