COURSE DESCRIPTION
This program is designed to help health care providers (medical, nursing and other allied personnel) organize care during the post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization period. The mnemonic S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Artificial Breathing, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, Emotional Support) was developed to help with the recall of information and organization of care in the pre-transport or transfer period. Ultimately, a uniform comprehensive approach during this period may improve the infants overall stability and outcome.
Preparation
Please read the following directions to prepare and complete your S.T.A.B.L.E. course.
Please follow these steps:
Online S.T.A.B.L.E Foundations:
1. Follow the link to go to the S.T.A.B.L.E Foundations
Add to cart, and purchase the online portion. Complete the online four-part course.
2. Purchase the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program Learner Manual, 7th Edition through the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Instructor-led (Hands-On Session) Registration
3. The student must register for the instructor-led course (Hands-On Session) through our website: VCMC Nursing Education: Titled S.T.A.B.L.E.
Hands-On Session
- Admission to hands-on sessions requires a printed certificate of completion at check-in. If a certificate is not presented, entrance will be denied.
- Cancellation of the course requires a minimum of 2 business days prior to class, to receive a refund.
- To receive your S.T.A.B.L.E. Provider Card, you will complete both the online S.T.A.B.L.E Foundations and instructor-led course.
